We all have a personal relationship with the Earth. As our bodies, our food, our water, and numerous other things that we need to survive are given to us by the Earth– we do indeed have a connection, a relationship to her (Mother Earth). Because we are forgetful of this relationship, we disconnect from the value of living our lives in such a way that demonstrates proper stewardship and respect. Many of the imbalances transpiring on the planet are due to our lifestyle choices, which often times lead us to misuse and abuse the Earth’s natural resources. Typhoons, tornadoes, hurricanes, wild fires, droughts, earthquakes, etc. become increasingly powerful and frequent the more we disconnect from our relationships to the Earth and from one another. Because we co-exist, we are meant to share and utilize the Earth’s resources for the ultimate well-being of all. If we all chose to do this, we would surely be able to create a more balanced and harmonious existence.
