We (the Union) fought for freedom, civil liberties and equality for all—and we were victorious; and the defeated pushed against this. They pushed against the decision of America to live up to its promise. They refused to accept our ratified Constitution granting equal civil and human rights to everyone. They defied the law in every way possible. They did not want to be part of our America that has a moral conscience. They have continually pushed their own hate-filled agenda (i.e. KKK), which has been enabled by people in our government. And still is. Such people do not stand for America. Racism is anti-American. Discrimination is anti-American. Inequality is anti-American. Promoting hate is anti-American. Turning one citizen against the other is anti-American. We (the Union sympathizers) do not want a dictator. We do not want a fascist leader. We do not want authoritarianism. To invite this in is to say that you don’t stand for America.
